THREAD THROUGH is an exhibition, talk and demonstration by Maggie Hensel-Brown in conjunction with ArtBau Gallery and Craft Week Sydney 2023.

 

EXHIBITION: From the 6th of October until the 5th of November, Maggie will be exhibiting a curated selection of her laces in the ArtBau exhibition space.

 

DEMONSTRATION: From Friday the 6th until Friday the 13th of October, Maggie will be in the gallery working on a piece of lace. Visitors will be able to see the stitching process, ask questions, and follow along with the creation of a single piece. This process will also be live streamed, so that viewers can keep track of progress over time. 

Demonstration will be from 10am until 3pm each day, with a day off on Tuesday the 10th.

 

TALK: As part of the “Listening Station” series at ArtBau, Maggie will be hosting a talk about historical and contemporary lacemaking. At 7pm on Wednesday the 11th of October. Drinks and light refreshments provided. Tickets $30.00, book tickets at the link below.

 

WORKSHOPS: On Saturday and Sunday the 14th and 15th, Maggie will be hosting two sessions of her community lacemaking project. All welcome, you will be able to participate in a small taster class to learn the basic needle lace stitches, and will contribute to a large piece which will be exhibited in 2024.
